You will soon start receiving information from the school through your school email account. This account is simply a Gmail account with a slightly different name. Instead of your_name@gmail.com, your student address will be your_name@southsaxons.com Along with email, you will also have access to a Google calendar and Google documents. The calendar will allow you to "subscribe" to teacher, club and school activity calendars to keep you up-to-date with assingments and school events. With the Google Docs, you can store your files online so that they are available at home as well as at school. There are two things that you need to do to get started. Step 1: go to www.google.com/a/southsaxons.com and activate your account. If you are unable to log in, see Mr. Mills in room 167 before or after school. user: lastname_firstname10 (your last name_your first name[last two digits of the year you graduate]) password: your student ID number (which you must change in the first email lesson) So if Joe Student graduates in 2010, his user name is: user: student_joe10 password: 123456

The security characters that you have to enter are often very hard to read - (dogroche) If you miss the first time, the second image is usually easier. Once activated, you will see the southsaxon student start page (below) with the different Google services that are available to you.
